Patrick Forbes

Patrick Forbes was financial educated at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and completed his articles in Cape Town for BKR, after which he was employed by Dutch company Euromate and Swedish company Plymovent, to restructure and financially control their South African acquisitions in the fume extraction and paper waste recycling industries. He successfully negotiated the sale of these subsidiaries at a later stage to Hocker Polytechnic a German organisation specialising in paper and wood waste recycling, with filtration, bailing, shredding and briquette devisions. He was made Financial Director and given a shareholding.

After moving to Australia he was involved in the financial restructure of a tyre recycling organisation Ultimate Tyre Recycling, where he gained substantial knowledge on the Tyre Recycling Market in Australia, as well as all the legal formalities associated with tyre recycling, including negotiations with Environmental Protection Agency, Councils and Workers Health and Safety.

After sale of the organisation he started a tyre waste export company which he currently operates with family members.

Patrick initiated discussions on behalf of PYReco with Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA), and after officially becoming involved in PYReco Australia, moved on to spearhead discussions with Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and Australias Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Patrick has now been involved in the recycling industry internationally for well over ten years, with over five years in the tyre waste industry of Australia.
