Michael Gillespie
Michael is a qualified engineer with a Masters in Business from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He has acquired over 30 years’ senior management experience in manufacturing operations, project management and construction of industrial plants.
Previous positions held include Chief Engineer of international paper and packaging group Mondi Limited’s Felixton bagasse pulp and paper mill; Manufacturing Manager of global group Smith and Nephew Limited’s Durban health care products manufacturing operation; General Works Manager of Dunlop Tyres International Limited’s Durban automotive tyre manufacturing facility; and Construction Site Manager of Africa’s leading packaging company, Nampak’s Greenfields waste paper recycling pulp and paper mill at Rosslyn, Pretoria.
Prior to joining the PYReco team in December 2010 Michael had conducted extensive research into the field of waste materials recovery and has continued to do so. He has an in depth understanding of waste gasification processes, including the waste tyres thermal recovery process and the maximising of energy generation. He brings a wealth of engineering knowledge to PYReco, specifically in respect of plant design, construction and operations management.
