David Anderson

David’s long career commenced in the tea plantations of North East India before he moved into the City of London where he began as a commodity trader with ED&F Man. He became a derivatives specialist, founding Anderson Man which went on to become ED&F Man International, one of the world’s first major derivatives fund managers, of which he was Chairman. He has been a member of several official trade bodies including The London Stock Exchange, the London Metal Exchange and the Baltic Shipping Exchange. He has also held senior posts in others as Deputy Chairman of the London Commodities Exchange, Chairman of the International Petroleum Exchange, a Director of the Securities and Investment Board (subsequently the FSA) and Chairman of the Liaison Committee which linked the Bank of England with the London Futures Exchanges in their negotiations on legal and regulatory matters with the US Authorities.

David continues to have an active involvement in the futures industry as well as being a strong advocate of conservation and sustainable development.
