Pyreco Carbon Black - sub one micron
Smithers Rapra finalising report to provide trade analysis for PYReco Carbon Black+
JULY 01 2010
Tests will include, % Volatile, % sulphur, % Ash, % carbon. Tests are also being run to determine the mineral analysis of the ashed material to obtain the inorganic compounds, such as SiO2,Al2O3,TiO2, Fe2O3,CaO,MgO,K2O, Na2O, SO3,P2O5,SrO,BaO,Mn3O4,ZnO.
Similarly, the following numbers are also being determined,
Iodine Adsorption Number, g/kg
ASTM D 1510-96
DBP Absorption Number, cm3/100g
ASTM D 2414-97
Extractables, %
ASTM D 4527-98 Method A
BET Surface Area, m2/gram
ASTM D 2414-97
The most recent application of PYReco Carbon Black+ was a commercial belting run, where the PYReco black replaced 100% of the N550 in a skim rubber formulation.
In the USA PCB+ has also been test sampled to manufacture vehicle tyres. Most importantly, the sulphur and zinc are still active in PYReco Carbon Black+ and require to be accounted for in the formulation used. In addition, 10-12% silicate remains with the char as well as the other inorganic material.
PYReco hold samples of sub 1 micron PYReco Carbon Black+ for immediate trade analysis in the UK.
Further samples of full production, pelletised, N550 and N220 grade PYReco Carbon Black+ are en route from the USA. Manufacturers and producers interested in obtaining samples of PYReco Carbon Black+ should apply in the first instance via info@pyreco.com.
